What Is Secondary Assembly?
Many processes and add-ons can be completed during secondary assembly to help create a smoother finished product or custom look. Trimming
After the creation of a product or part by roto molding, there may be excess pieces of plastic that need to be trimmed. Trimming can be done to limit sharp corners, cut spaces for additional products, or create openings. The trimming process is done using specialized routing tools to ensure seamless cuts or drilling.
Inserts
Certain products that have rotomolded parts may require other materials to be added for product functionality. For example, outdoor tables, locking storage containers, or custom products will need metal inserts and hardware to ensure integrity. Table legs, extra supports, hinges, locks, or handles will be crafted as part of the second assembly.
Assembly
If your product needs additional parts or hardware, they will then be assembled to create the final product. Legs, other plastic rotomolded parts, and hardware will be attached using screws or welding. Multiple plastic parts or parts from another manufacturer can be assembled by our team.
Welding
Multiple rotomolded parts can be assembled together using welding. Utilizing either thermal welding or spin-welding, plastic parts can be combined seamlessly, creating a more aesthetically pleasing and functional product. Welding can also be used to add fittings or hardware.
Surface Decoration
Want your product to stand out? Surface decoration, like paint, graphics, or decals, can help make a product unique.
